First Lutheran Women donated $360 to the Thrivent Builds/Habitat for Humanity project in Maquoketa. The funds were generated from the August 4 bus trip sponsored by First Lutheran Women. The bus trip to see Hello Dolly at Prospect Park Theater in Moline was not intended as a fund raiser, however as all but one seat on the 55 passenger bus was sold, income from the fellowship event exceeded costs. FLW Board members voted to give the “extra” money to Habitat for Humanity. Here, FLW President Mary Baker presents the check to Kelvin Sohl, representative of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
