Church Women United, Inc. is a national, ecumenical Christian Women’s organization working for peace, advocating justice and serving communities throughout the United States. CWU has celebrated World Community day annually in the first week of November for 70 years. Maquoketa will hold its annual World community Day Celebration on October 29 and November 2. All events will be held at First United Methodist Church. The bible study, lead by First Lutheran Women will take place on Monday, October 29 at 10:00 a.m. The Community Day worship and program will take place on Friday, November 2, at 10:00 a.m. The program this year is based on the letter of Paul to the Romans, chapter 12 and will feature music, prayer, Bible study, presentation and discussion regarding the call to “abide in community”. These events are open to the public.
